About Jennifer

Jennifer Elaine Tirrell was an orphaned child by age three.  Her initials spelled JET and that was supposed to be lucky.   Adopted by kin and taught about Jesus, her early traumatic losses faded.  Indeed, she is lucky and blessed.

With the advent of Jennifer’s newly acquired crown—three grandchildren and her delightfully grey “grannie hair,” came the desire to enlighten children and young adults in a way that she herself had been informed as an orphaned child; through simply told, stimulating stories with intriguing faith foundations.

After raising three independent adults and serving the underserved in many volunteer capacities for over 30 years, Jennifer became the Program Director for her daughter’s discipleship ministry farm for children.  The antics of the animals and kids provided her with story fodder for many years to come.  She has also worked as an environmental education director and team builder for adults and children and believes communion with nature directs one to moral goodness.

Jennifer won a Sparrow Award for her memoir, Lucky Me, in 2023.  She was chosen by the NH Poet Laureate to be included in Covid Spring, Granite State Pandemic Poems.  She is featured in Spiritus Oppidum: A Collection of Spiritual Writings from Monadnock Underground, is a frequent contributor to https://devokids.com/category/stories/ and has been published in other online magazines, anthologies and devotions.

She is the President of Word Weavers Coastal Carolinas.

She has several children’s books in progress, as well as a young adult historical fiction mystery novel.  Jane’s Secret is based on a true story she discovered while researching her heritage.

When Jennifer is not writing, she enjoys serving the community with her husband, Bobby, cuddling her growing brood of grandchildren and living life to the full.
